Tripoli – Libyan Airlines announced the return of one of its Airbus A320 aircraft to service. This followed the successful completion of heavy maintenance work. The aircraft also successfully passed its flight test.
The company stated that the heavy maintenance was carried out by local engineers and technicians. It described this step as a qualitative achievement for the country’s civil aviation sector. This will contribute to localizing heavy maintenance operations. It will also reduce reliance on foreign services.
The company noted that these maintenance and inspection works previously incurred high financial costs. Each aircraft’s maintenance cost approximately two million dollars.
The company affirmed that this success reflects the national workforce’s ability. It shows their capability to transform challenges into practical achievements. This comes at a time when the Libyan aviation sector has faced operational and technical challenges for years.
