Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh, discussed Monday with a delegation from the British Ministry of Defense, “assistance in rebuilding the Libyan military institution, and the government’s efforts to unify the army,” according to the Prime Minister Media Office.
The Office said that Dbeibeh, in his capacity as Minister of Defense, met with a delegation from the British Ministry of Defense headed by the Adviser to the Ministry of Defense for North Africa and the Middle East, Jen Martin, in the presence of the British ambassador to Libya.
“The meeting dealt with many important issues, including assistance in rebuilding the Libyan military institution, and the government’s efforts to unify the army,” the Office added.
It also dealt with support for the efforts of the 5+5 Joint Military Committee (JMC), and the file of mercenaries and foreign fighters, noting that the two parties indicated that a meeting would be held at the end of this month to discuss the details.
