Benghazi – The Libyan Intelligence Service announced the dismantling of a number of terrorist cells that were planning to carry out operations threatening the stability of the country and its vital institutions, as part of ongoing efforts to protect the security of the homeland and its citizens.
In a press statement from its media office, the Service explained that this security achievement was the result of intensive intelligence work and high-level coordination between various departments and security agencies, as part of a national vision aimed at consolidating the pillars of security and combating terrorism and espionage in all their forms.
The statement praised the “efficiency of the officers and personnel who showed dedication and commitment in performing their national duty,” stressing that the hand of justice will reach anyone proven to be involved in supporting, financing, or covering up any activity that threatens Libya’s security.
In a related context, the Intelligence Service warned against systematic smear campaigns led by certain entities and suspicious pages through malicious media campaigns aimed at undermining the Service’s efforts and damaging its credibility, affirming that these desperate attempts will not undermine the institution or the resolve of its members.
The Service concluded its statement by affirming its full commitment to the law and respect for human rights, stressing the continuation of its efforts to protect Libya from all threats, both internal and external.
