Minsk – A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Interior of the Libyan government visited, today, Thursday, the headquarters of the Belarusian “OMOH” anti-riot unit, which is part of the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The delegation was received by the Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs and a number of security leaders, who provided a comprehensive presentation on the unit’s advanced equipment and gear, its operational mechanisms for riot dispersal and hostage rescue, in addition to a practical field demonstration of the unit’s capabilities.
The visit included an official meeting during which the two sides discussed the memorandum of understanding scheduled to be signed tomorrow, which includes a training program for members of the Libyan Ministry of Interior, specifying timelines and implementation mechanisms, in addition to enhancing mutual visits between the two sides.
During the meeting, the Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs affirmed full support and facilitation for the success of the cooperation programs, announcing his country’s intention to send a security delegation to Libya to review the Ministry’s capabilities and training infrastructure, as a prelude to expanding the areas of security partnership between the two countries.
