Sebha – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Libyan Government and Minister of Defense, Ahmed Houma, discussed with a delegation from the University of Jufra the arrangements for the Palm and Olive Conference, which is scheduled to be organized in the municipality.
The attendees reviewed the technical and logistical preparations for the conference, including holding a preparatory workshop to discuss organizational and coordination mechanisms among the participating parties and defining the scientific themes to be addressed in the sessions.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of supporting the agricultural sector through this event and enhancing investment opportunities in palm and olive cultivation in the southern region.
Houma affirmed that the conference represents an important step in supporting sustainable development and aligns with the vision of the government and the General Command in enhancing food security, especially after the success of security efforts in protecting the region.
For its part, the university delegation valued the Deputy Prime Minister’s interest, praising his support for scientific and academic initiatives related to the development of the agricultural sector.
