The European Union (EU) launched in Tunisia on February 21 and 22, a workshop on free zones in Libya, as part of the activities of the “E-NABLE” project, which is funded by the EU and implemented by the “Expertise France” Foundation according to the European Union office in Libya.
The workshop discussed the development of a comprehensive national strategy for free zones in order to expand the scope of trade movement locally, improve the investment climate, and support Libyan economic growth, according to the same source.
A number of Libyan officials from the Ministries of Economy and Trade, Foreign Affairs, and Planning participated in the workshop, as well as representatives of the Marisa Free Zone, the Misrata Free Zone, and the Customs Authority.
