Benghazi – Benghazi witnessed an exceptional spiritual and humanitarian event. The Friends of People of Determination Association organized a competition. This focused on Quran memorization, recitation, and the call to prayer (Adhan). It was specifically for individuals with Down syndrome. The competition activities began with wide participation. Sixty-two participants with Down syndrome took part. They presented honorable examples of accurate recitation and proper pronunciation. Their melodious voices also performed the Adhan with deep spirituality. The association aimed to boost self-confidence among individuals with Down syndrome through this initiative. It also sought to highlight their mental and spiritual capabilities. The initiative emphasized that disability does not hinder creativity or connection to God’s book. It created a positive competitive environment for families and specialists.
Mohamed Said Al-Warfali, head of the Friends of People of Determination Association, told the Libyan News Agency. He affirmed this competition is part of the association’s annual plan. It aims to empower people of determination. Its purpose is to shed light on the amazing talents of these children. He noted the mastery of recitation witnessed today. It conveyed a message of love and peace to the entire community.
The evaluation criteria included several categories. One category was memorizing short chapters for beginners. This focused on memorization quality and simple pronunciation. Another was recitation and chanting for those with melodious voices. This assessed vocal beauty, confidence, and reverence. The third was performing the Adhan for talented vocalists. This emphasized voice strength, correct articulation, and adherence to proper order.
The competition concluded in an atmosphere of joy. It celebrated the efforts made. It underscored the importance of such initiatives. These strengthen the role of people of determination in society.
