Tobruk – An official meeting was held at the headquarters of the Tobruk Free Zone, today, Wednesday, in its new building in the presence of the Mayor of Tobruk Municipality, Faraj Boualkhatabiya, and the Director of the Projects Department at the municipality, Hamad Al-Taif. The delegation was received by the Chairman of the Zone’s Board of Directors, Idris Abduljawad Al-Habouni, along with the board members and its staff.
Representatives from the Customs Guard, the Tobruk Seaport, and the Libyan Academy for Postgraduate Studies participated in the meeting, in addition to a number of specialized entities related to economic and service work in the city, with the aim of discussing targeted projects and enhancing cooperation between the Free Zone and the municipality.
Al-Habouni reviewed the work progress of the Free Zone since its establishment and the targeted projects for the upcoming period, praising the municipality’s support and its facilitation of work procedures within the zone. He gave a visual presentation that included the most prominent current works and future plans, explaining the efforts being made to attract investment and develop the logistical work environment in Tobruk.
For his part, the mayor of the municipality emphasized the importance of the role played by the Free Zone and the technical and organizational expertise and capabilities it possesses, stressing the municipality’s keenness to enhance cooperation with it in various fields to support the economic development of the city.
The meeting comes within the framework of continuous coordination between the Tobruk Municipality and the Free Zone to promote investment and service projects, in a way that contributes to stimulating economic activity in the Eastern Region.
