Mohamed Menfi, Chairman of Libya’s Presidential Council, and Stephanie Williams, U.N. Advisor on Libya, met today in Tripoli to discuss the latter’s new proposed plan for mediation between the country’s political rivals, according to the council.
Last week, Williams unveiled a plan to bring together the House of Representatives and the High Council of State (HCS) to form a joint committee dedicated to developing a consensual constitutional basis for holding national elections.
During her meeting with Menfi, the U.N. diplomat emphasized that the plan aims to establish stability and achieve the elections.
