Ministry of Endowments directs mosque preachers to support the armed forces and maintain security

Benghazi – The Libyan Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs issued an urgent circular. It was sent to all imams of affiliated mosques. The circular urged support for the armed forces. This support involves maintaining security. It also includes pursuing corrupt individuals. This is part of their religious and national responsibility. It backs the army’s efforts. These efforts protect borders, citizens, and property.

The circular was issued based on directives from the Minister of Endowments. This topic will be discussed in next Friday’s sermon. The sermon is scheduled for February 13, 2026. Specific themes will be covered. Imams will remind people of the blessing of security. They will stress the obligation to preserve it. The sermon will explain the armed forces’ role. This role involves protecting borders and maintaining security. The virtue of “Ribat” (guarding frontiers for Allah) will be highlighted. It will also warn against corruption on Earth. Furthermore, it will clarify the ruling on corrupt individuals according to Islamic Sharia.

The circular also stated that the second sermon should focus on Ramadan. It should encourage a proper welcome for the holy month. Imams must emphasize Ramadan’s virtues. They should urge making the most of it through acts of worship. Sincere repentance is also encouraged. The sermon should promote societal preservation. This involves cooperation in righteousness and piety. Maintaining security is considered one of the greatest acts of worship during Ramadan.
