Sirte – Work continued on Sunday to clear and pump rainwater blockages in the city of Misrata, carried out by emergency teams from the Services Office of the Central Region’s Operation and Maintenance Department. These teams are working to remove water accumulations from main and secondary roads and in front of schools, in a move aimed at mitigating damage from recent rainfall and facilitating the movement of citizens.
The General Company for Water and Sanitation, in a post on its official Facebook page, praised the significant efforts of the workers in the field, extending its thanks to the emergency teams for their dedication during the difficult weather conditions.
In a related context, the Services Department of the National Development Agency launched a comprehensive field campaign on Saturday to clean rainwater drainage networks in the city of Sirte, as part of early preparations to face the challenges of the winter and rainy season.
This campaign is part of the National Development Agency’s action plan, under the direct supervision of the Services Department. Efforts are focused on maintaining and cleaning drainage manholes in the city’s various neighborhoods and streets to reduce flooding problems and improve water drainage infrastructure.
These actions are part of a proactive national strategy by the competent authorities, aimed at enhancing preparedness and reducing potential damage during the rainy season, especially in areas with weak drainage networks.
