Tripoli – The Tripoli Security Directorate announced a temporary partial closure of the highway on Thursday. This closure begins Friday morning. It will last until construction work is complete.
The Directorate clarified details of the closure. The road will be closed from Gout Al-Shaal Island. Traffic will be diverted to the Gout Al-Shaal traffic light. The road eastbound will also be closed. This closure starts from Al-Ghiran Island. Traffic will be rerouted towards Al-Siraj area. Alternatively, it will be rerouted to the Gout Al-Shaal entrance.
This measure allows for ongoing construction work. The work includes removing the pedestrian bridge near Al-Ghiran Island. This is for development purposes. It will prepare for a new vehicle bridge. This bridge will be on the highway towards Janzour area.
The department stated the closure begins at 8:00 AM. It will continue until the highway construction is finished.
Tripoli Security Directorate urged all drivers. They must adhere to the specified alternative routes. Drivers should also follow instructions from traffic and emergency patrols. These patrols are present at the location. This ensures public safety. It also guarantees smooth traffic flow.
