Prime Minister visits the city of Ghat to promote development and support stability

Ghat – Libyan Government Prime Minister Osama Hammad arrived in Ghat Friday morning. He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Hamid Houma. Engineer Belgasem Khalifa Haftar, Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, also joined them. This was an official high-level visit. It was part of a field tour of the city. The delegation was received by Ahmed Al-Souqi Amghar, Mayor of Ghat. Mayors from Al-Barkat, Tehaleh, and Al-Awainat municipalities were also present.

The Director of Ghat Security greeted them. Several local dignitaries and elders attended. Directors of relevant service and executive sectors were also there. The visit aimed to assess the general conditions in Ghat and its surroundings. It sought to identify the city’s service and development needs. Plans were also studied to improve citizen services. The visit further aimed to enhance stability and sustainable development. During the visit, the government delegation affirmed its commitment.

The executive and legislative leadership pledged support for southern cities. The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund committed to this goal. These cities will be integrated into national development plans. This ensures spatial justice. It also strengthens national unity and cohesion. The tour included visits to development and service projects. Extensive meetings were held with local administration officials. Dignitaries also participated in these meetings.

The goal was to understand challenges and opportunities. Efforts will be coordinated to meet citizen needs directly and effectively. This will improve quality of life. It will also enhance Ghat’s role in national development.
