Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, renewed his country’s support for efforts to end the crisis in Libya, and support for preparations for the December 24 elections.
This came in a telephone conversation with the UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, yesterday, where the two parties discussed preparations for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
They also discussed the work of the Libyan Political Dialogue committees and expressed their support for the work of the 5+5 Military Commission.
They agreed to continue coordinating efforts with the United Nations to facilitate a comprehensive and constructive dialogue that includes all parties in Libya.
