Sirte Free Zone Port announces the installation of a platform for unloading bitumen ships for the first time

Sirte – The Sirte Free Zone Port has announced the completion of the installation of the first dedicated platform for unloading bitumen ships, in a move that reflects the port’s development and its response to the increasing needs amid the urban boom and major development projects in Sirte and eastern and southern Libya.

Development and modernization projects in the port and its surroundings are led by the efforts of the National Development Agency, which is working to enhance infrastructure and provide the necessary equipment to support strategic projects. Bitumen is an essential material for construction and road paving, which makes the new platform a qualitative leap in securing supplies and facilitating import traffic.

The Sirte Free Zone affirms that the platform’s installation is part of a comprehensive plan to develop the port’s capabilities and transform it into a logistical and commercial hub serving the central region and extending into the depths of southern Libya. It also stressed that this achievement enhances the confidence of international and local partners in the port’s capabilities and its readiness to receive investments and joint projects that contribute to supporting the economic development process in Libya.
