The Public Prosecutor’s Office said that Counselor Al-Siddiq Al-Sour and the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Resident Coordinator, Ulrika Richardson, renewed their commitment to continue strengthening the partnership aimed at developing the technical capabilities of justice institutions and consolidating the rule of law in Libya.
This came during a meeting held at the headquarters of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Tripoli, where both sides stressed the need to enhance international support, especially in the areas of combating organized crime and cross-border crimes, according to a statement issued by the United Nations mission.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office said that Al-Sour and Richardson discussed issues related to “serious human rights violations and corruption files that hinder the path of good governance,” stressing the importance of joint and coordinated work to support the rule of law and promote respect for human rights principles in Libya.
