Tunisia records highest death toll per day since start of pandemic

Tunisia records highest death toll per day since start of pandemic

Tunisia recorded 194 new deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, which is the highest death toll per day that the country has ever recorded since the beginning of the pandemic in March of last year.

This brings the total of recorded deaths in the country to 16,244 deaths.

9,286 new cases were also recorded, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 491,021.

The Tunisian Ministry of Health has said that the country is witnessing “an unprecedented epidemic wave”, which is characterized by a wide spread of the Alpha and Delta variants of COVID-19.
