In a meeting with the the High Council of State President, Khaled al-Mishri, UN Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, highlighted “the calendar set by the LPDF roadmap (recognized by UN Security Council) and called for urgent and serious efforts to end Libya’s already too long transitional period with free, fair and credible elections.”
“Al-Mishri outlined his vision to work towards national elections via a referendum on the constitution in a timely manner,” Williams tweeted on Friday.
“I emphasized the urgent need to respect the demands of the 2.8 million Libyans who have registered to vote,” she added.
