UN Secretary General’s Advisor on Libya, Stephanie Williams, reiterated UN’s firm commitment to support relevant authorities in Libya to achieve the postponed elections that were supposed to be held on December 24, 2021.
“As I continue to engage with Libyan stakeholders and international partners, I reiterate the UN’s firm commitment to support the relevant authorities to fulfill the legitimate and longstanding aspirations of 2.8 million Libyan citizens who registered to vote,” Williams said.
“I stress once again the importance of ensuring suitable conditions to keep the electoral process moving forward on a solid basis and on a level playing field in which no candidate enjoys unfair advantages,” she added.
