U.S. Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, said he discussed with heads of the Tripoli-based High State Council committees establishing constitutional basis for Libya elections.
“I met with heads of several High State Council committees to discuss efforts to establish a constitutional basis and restore momentum to presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya, U.S. Embassy in Libya quoted Norland.
“We also discussed the importance of the government’s ability to support the elections, as well as finding a solution to the current political crisis. We are encouraged that the HSC appointed representatives to a constitutional dialogue committee,” he added.
