The United Nations Special Envoy, Stephanie Williams, met on Monday with met with representatives of Tripoli Civil Movement, Tripoli Reconciliation Council, 17 February Coalition, Elders and Notables of Souq Al-Joumaa, Janzour and Central Tripoli.
In a statement via her Twitter, Williams said that the representatives “presented their views on the political process and called for parliamentary elections to restore the democratic legitimacy of Libyan institutions.”
“I emphasized that the will of the 2.8 million registered voters should not be usurped. A clear path towards free, fair, and credible national elections must be set without delay,” she said.
