Abdullah Naker, chairman of the Summit Party, has warned that current political actors in Libya want to obstruct the electoral process in the country.
“Those present at the scene loyal to foreigners and they have divided Libya,” he told the press on Monday. “We must reunite and prevent war.”
He pointed that the country needs a constitution but stated that “there are those who do not understand the meaning of the word constitution.”
Naker also said that he has “reservations” about the United Nations Mission in Libya, which he blames for any potential failure.
“Libya is under Chapter VII [of the U.N. Charter]. Any failure and shortcoming in Libya is borne by the Security Council and the Mission because it did not seek to make Libya a state with a constitution,” he said.
