Benghazi – The Libyan government’s Foreign Minister, Abdul-Hadi Al-Hweij, met on Sunday with a delegation. The delegation is participating in the Maghreb Writers and Authors Conference, which is being hosted by the city.
The President of the Maghreb Writers and Authors Union presented an award to Minister Al-Hweij. This recognized the ministry’s efforts to support cultural activities. It also acknowledged their role in fostering intellectual ties among Maghreb nations. The ministry helped create a suitable environment for this important cultural event in Libya.
Delegation members expressed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality. They praised the security and stability in Benghazi. They noted the clear efforts in reconstruction and development. The delegation also commended the national role of the Libyan Government and Armed Forces. This role helps establish stability and build state institutions.
The delegation is scheduled to travel to Derna tomorrow to continue its cultural program. The program includes field visits and solidarity events. These events support the city’s ongoing reconstruction efforts.
The delegation includes the heads of writers’ unions from Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. The Secretary-General of the Sudanese Writers’ Union also attended as an observer.
