Member of the House of Representatives, Jaballah Al-Shibani, said that the Tripoli Court of Appeal has issued its ruling to nullify the establishment of a municipal branch for Tawergha affiliated with the Misrata municipality.
Al-Shibani added, in a post on his official Facebook account, that the court has also suspended both the superior and subordinate entities from exercising their duties. This action was taken after they violated the previous judicial ruling from the same court, which had canceled the decision by the head of the Sikka Road government to merge the Tawergha municipality into the Misrata municipality.
The representative noted that the decision represents a step in defending the local identity of the people of Tawergha, stressing the integrity and independence of the Libyan judiciary despite attempts to circumvent the law.
