Ali Al-Takbali, a member of the House of Representatives’ Defense and National Security Committee, criticized the justifications by members of the High Council of State for rejecting the candidacy of military personnel and dual nationals.
In statements to the “Asharq Al-Awsat” newspaper, Al-Takbali said: “Commitment to democracy means accepting all opinions, and let the ballot box be the arbiter, not the political whims that seek to exclude specific names in advance.”
