House of Representatives spokesperson Abdullah Blihaq made a statement on Tuesday. He said French special envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, affirmed his country’s support. France supports the House of Representatives. It also backs its efforts to organize simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections.
Blihaq added this position was clarified during a meeting in Paris. The meeting was between HoR Speaker Aguila Saleh and the French envoy. During the talks, Soler praised the outcomes of the 6+6 Committee. He considered them an important, consensual step regarding election laws.
The spokesperson explained that the French envoy stressed a key point. He emphasized the importance of the 6+6 Committee continuing its duties. This will help complete the political path and advance the electoral process.
