Sirte – The head of the Sirte Municipal Guard, Colonel Salah Mahmoud, confirmed the destruction of 2,125 kilograms of spoiled red and white meat. This meat was seized during inspection campaigns. The inspections targeted butcher shops and poultry outlets in the city.
Colonel Mahmoud told the Libyan News Agency correspondent about the destruction process. The destroyed meat did not meet health and standard specifications. The destruction took place in the presence of several officials. These included the director of the Sirte Municipal Guard Center. Inspectors from the Food and Drug Control Center were also present.
A public prosecution representative attended as well. He noted these measures are part of the Sirte Municipal Guard’s efforts. These efforts aim to ensure food safety. They also protect citizens from spoiled and harmful products.
