Members of the Jabal al-Akhdar Desert Patrols Office have arrested an Egyptian national attempting to impersonate a Libyan citizen using forged documents.
The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency stated that the documents presented by the detainee aroused the suspicions of the patrol members, leading to his identity being verified and confirmed as an Egyptian national. He confessed to using the forged papers to defraud citizens.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused entered Libyan territory illegally and obtained the forged documents from an office in the city of Musaid in 2021 for a sum of money.
He also confessed to running a car maintenance and sales business in the industrial area of Bayda, using those documents to prove his status as a Libyan citizen.
