طرابلس – The Libyan Fatwa House’s Council for Research and Sharia Studies announced an update. The council reviewed reports submitted by moon-sighting committees. These committees were tasked with verifying the crescent moon. The sighting of the crescent moon was confirmed. This occurred in several Libyan cities.
The council issued a statement. It confirmed that tomorrow, Friday, marks the first day of Eid al-Fitr. This is for the Hijri year 1447 AH. It corresponds to March 20, 2026. This decision aligns with the Prophet’s saying. The Prophet stated, “Fast when you see it (the moon) and break your fast when you see it.” This Hadith is reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
The Council for Research and the Fatwa House extended congratulations to all citizens. They also congratulated the entire Islamic nation on Eid al-Fitr. They prayed to Allah Almighty. May He accept all fasting and prayers. May this Eid bring good fortune. May it be a sign of victory and empowerment. They prayed for those who died defending truth and religion. May they be counted among the righteous martyrs in Libya and Muslim lands. They also prayed for the wounded. May Allah heal them and ease their suffering. May Allah unite their voice on truth and guidance. May Allah grant glory and victory to Muslims. This is in the ongoing war against Jews and Crusaders.
