Benghazi – Commander of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, met with Chinese Ambassador to Libya Ma Shuliang. A delegation accompanied the ambassador. The meeting took place at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi.
Haftar expressed great appreciation for the distinguished relations between Libya and China. These relations are based on mutual trust and respect. He emphasized the importance of working toward building a strategic partnership. This partnership would benefit the shared interests of both countries.
The Chinese ambassador affirmed his country’s desire to strengthen partnerships with Libya. He aims to open broader horizons for cooperation. He also mentioned leveraging Chinese expertise, particularly in technology and renewable energy. The ambassador stressed support for cooperation between public and private sectors. This cooperation will boost economic relations.
The Chinese ambassador noted that launching a maritime route between the two countries is a significant step. It aims to increase trade volume.
