Head of the Libyan Government monitors the progress of development projects in Murzuq Municipality

Murzuq – Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hammad conducted an inspection tour of Murzuq. He was accompanied by Balqasim Haftar. Haftar is the Director General of the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund. The tour took place last Sunday. This was part of his wider tour. He is monitoring the progress of service and development projects. These projects are located in the southern regions.

Members of the House of Representatives, Issa Al-Oraibi and Zayed Hadiya, participated in the field tour. Abu Bakr Al-Zawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government, was also present. Hatem Al-Oraibi, Director of Projects at the Development Fund, also attended. Major General Al-Mabrouk Sahban, Commander of the Southern Military Region, was there. The Dean of Murzuq Municipality and the President of Fezzan University also joined. A number of security and military leaders were present. Service sector officials and representatives of the city’s components also participated.

During the visit, the Prime Minister met with representatives of the local residents. He also met with representatives of the Tubu component in Murzuq. They discussed the main challenges facing the city. He listened to their observations and demands. He stressed the need to intensify efforts. These efforts should enhance peaceful coexistence. They should also support social stability. All service and development issues must be addressed. This will ensure permanent stability. It will also guarantee the unity of the city’s social fabric.

The Prime Minister and the Director General of the Development Fund inspected housing projects. The Fund oversees the implementation of these projects. He monitored the completion rates of several housing units. These units are allocated to affected families. This is in preparation for their delivery to eligible beneficiaries.

The Prime Minister’s inspection tour included several sites. He reviewed progress on the city entrance paving and development project. He also visited the maintenance and development work at the College of Economics and Accounting. This college is part of Fezzan University in Murzuq. Student housing at the university was also inspected. Additionally, he visited Murzuq General Hospital.
