Wadi Otba – The National Development Agency has announced the start of the “Barjouj Agricultural Project.” The project is part of the Wadi Otba municipality. It falls under the 2030 plan to increase agricultural areas. The plan also aims to improve the efficiency of available land.
The project is a cornerstone for enhancing food security. It will support local production of essential crops and fodder in the southern region.
The first phase is supervised by the agency’s Agricultural Projects Department. It includes the implementation of 45 agricultural circles. These are carefully distributed to achieve a food balance. Thirty-five circles are for cultivating essential grains like wheat and barley. Ten circles are designated for growing alfalfa to provide green fodder and support livestock.
