Tunisian customs at the Ras Ajdir border crossing have foiled a smuggling attempt. Authorities seized 2.8 million dinars in foreign currency. They also confiscated six gold bars weighing over 14 kilograms. The contraband was carefully hidden inside a vehicle. Two individuals in the car were preparing to leave Tunisian territory.
Customs officials stated the inspection uncovered the money and gold bars. They were securely concealed within the vehicle. A seizure report was immediately filed. Necessary legal actions have been taken.
According to Tunisian authorities, the Public Prosecution was consulted. The prosecution authorized the case to be referred to competent security services. Further investigations will be conducted and additional measures will be taken.
