Benghazi – The Benghazi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture discussed new trade cooperation with Chad. The talks on Sunday focused on enhancing transit trade through Libyan territory.
The meeting included Mohammed Haqqar, a member of the Chamber and the Chadian Businessmen’s Council. Tariq Bosen, a representative of Emaar Libya Holding Company, also attended. Abdul Razzaq Barma, the company’s coordinator for Chadian-Libyan relations, was present.
Participants focused on Libya’s logistical role as a regional corridor for goods. This corridor would serve countries in the Sahel and Central Africa. They discussed mechanisms to facilitate transit procedures. They also aimed to support the flow of trade for the benefit of both countries’ private sectors.
This discussion aims to support transit trade and diversify national income. It also seeks to enhance logistical corridors. This will create a more attractive business environment for regional investments.
The Chamber stressed the importance of leveraging Libya’s strategic location. It called for joint programs to boost economic integration and activate bilateral trade. These programs will also support logistical services and transport between Libya and Chad.
