Al-Magarha tribe in southern Libya said in a statement If its son Abdulla Al-Senussi, intelligence chief of late Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddaf, is not released from Mitiga prison in Tripoli within 72 hours, the tribe would have to block the Man-Made River water flow.
The statement said al-Senussi suffers poor health conditions, where he has cancer, did not receive treatment and was denied doctors visit for nearly three years, in addition to prohibiting family visits for him.
Al-Magarha tribe appealed to the Government of National Unity (GNU), the Presidential Council, international human rights organizations, the representative of the United Nations in Libya, the Red Crescent, officials and legal experts to immediately intervene in this matter and work to present the prisoner to doctors to receive treatment and allow him visits.
