The Ministry of Water Resources of the Government of Stability reassured citizens. Dams in areas with weather fluctuations are completely safe and pose no danger. The ministry confirmed that rainwater inflow is under control.
The Ministry warned drivers of dangerous road conditions between Ajdabiya and Al-Mukhaili. The danger is due to flowing floodwaters and low visibility. It urged caution and advised people to stay away from flood channels.
The Director of the Dams Department, Mr. Divar, confirmed that runoff in valleys is affecting main roads. He stated this has no connection to the dams.
In a special statement to the Libyan News Agency, Divar explained that heavy rains made roads unsafe for vehicles. He stressed the need to follow instructions from competent authorities to preserve public safety. He pointed out that the ministry’s emergency and rapid response teams are in the field. They are monitoring the situation, assessing potential damage, and dealing with it immediately.
