Libyan Parliament Member, Jaballa al-Shaibani, said if the incident of handing over Abu-Agila al-Mariami to the United States passed without a serious and decisive stance from the concerned institutions (the Parliament – the Presidential Council – the Attorney General – the government) and the people of all sects, it will open the door for handing over other Libyan nationals.
The Libyan Attorney-General, Al-Siddiq Al-Sour, held talks on Sunday with UNDP Resident Representative in Libya, Marc-André Franche, to discuss “cooperation and partnerships in the field of strengthening the rule of law,” according to a brief statement by Franche via Twitter.
The Libyan Government of National Unity, led by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, officially rejected Egypt’s unilateral decision to demarcate its western maritime borders, considering it as a violation of its territorial waters and the continental shelf of the Libyan state.
