The spokesperson for the National Center for Disease Control, Emad Enjouma, stated that the center will launch a vaccination campaign against measles and German measles (rubella) in 9 municipalities in the Eastern Region: Benghazi, Al-Malitaniya, Tocra, Al-Marj, Jardas al-Abid, Al-Abyar, Al-Bayda, Shahhat, and Sahil al-Jabal.
In exclusive statements to the “Abaad” platform, Enjouma explained that the campaign comes after monitoring an increase in the incidence of the two diseases and will last for 10 days, starting from September 20th.
He noted that the campaign will target children born between 2017 and 2024, calling on parents to take their children to public vaccination centers in the targeted municipalities.
Concluding his remarks, Enjouma mentioned that the center recently conducted a similar campaign in the Southern Region, which saw a large turnout exceeding 95% of the target population.
