Benghazi – The Braha Foundation for Culture and Arts inaugurated the “Braha for Culture and Italian Language” on Thursday evening. This initiative was coordinated with the Faculty of Languages at Benghazi University. A delegation from the Italian Consulate attended. Members of the Libyan-Italian Friendship Association were present. The University’s Vice President for Community Service also attended. The Dean of the Faculty of Languages participated. Several faculty members and students interested in cultural and linguistic affairs were also there.
Dr. Salwa Bin Amer is the Dean of the Faculty of Languages. She expressed her happiness at the opening of this cultural club. The Italian Language Department of the faculty sponsors the club. She affirmed the initiative’s goal. It aims to enhance cultural exchange and communication. It uses modern formats. These formats benefit students. They develop their academic achievement skills. This is particularly for postgraduate students.
Dr. Walid Dryaq is the Head of the Italian Language Department. He explained the significance of this Braha. It represents an intellectual window. It provides a space for Italian language enthusiasts. They can develop their passion and linguistic skills. He noted the program will include cinema and theater performances. A specialized podcast will also be featured. These will highlight Italian culture. Diverse formats will be used. This will build bridges of communication between the two peoples.
Bushra Mohammed is a student in the Italian Language Department. She emphasized the importance of this launch. It offers opportunities for direct interaction. It allows live communication with native speakers. These interactions occur outside academic walls. This enhances students’ knowledge and cultural understanding. It also supports linguistic activities. These activities contribute to bringing Libyan and Italian cultures closer.
