Benghazi – House of Representatives spokesperson Abdullah Bliheq stated on Thursday that the committee formed by Decision No. 115 of 2025 has begun reviewing current legislation. This committee is tasked with conducting a comprehensive study of all laws related to communications and digital space.

Member of the Transportation and Communications Committee, Asma al-Khoja, chaired the meeting via video conference. Participants included the Minister of Communications and Informatics of the Libyan Government, Salem Abdullah al-Dersi. Committee members Hilal Hadiyah al-Muntasir, Omar Amro Abdulnabi, and Abdulbasit Salem al-Baour also attended. They were joined by the secretary of the House Transportation and Communications Committee, Habib al-Kharshoufi.

The meeting reviewed existing laws concerning the communications sector. The committee identified several pieces of legislation, including the Communications Law and the Cybercrime Law.

At the conclusion of the meeting, members agreed to start evaluating current laws and organizing workshops. These efforts aim to draft a legal framework covering communications and information technology. The proposed system will include digital space, personal data protection, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.
