The Public Prosecution has ordered the pretrial detention of the General Director of Al-Hawari General Hospital pending investigation, in connection with incidents of misappropriation of medicines and medical supplies valued at 995,000 dinars.
The Prosecution’s media office clarified that the director authorized the purchase of medicines worth 435,000 dinars at an inflated price that exceeded the market rate. Additionally, 52,000 dinars were disbursed without documentation to justify the expenditure.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor, within the jurisdiction of the Benghazi Court of Appeals, conducted an investigation that established the hospital director’s responsibility.
