Sebha – Professor Dr. Abdel Hadi Al-Basir Al-Sharif announced a new development. He is a Professor of Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics at Sebha University. He developed a new method for testing RNA integrity. This method uses a safe alternative material. It replaces toxic formaldehyde. The goal is to conduct genetic research with greater accuracy. It also ensures enhanced safety in laboratories.
Al-Basir explained his findings to the Libyan News Agency. He stated that this method is more than a technical modification. It represents a practical transformation. It allows researchers to perform accurate genetic analyses. Complex equipment is no longer needed. This protects workers from hazardous materials. He also noted that using borax is environmentally friendly. It is also low-cost. This aligns with green chemistry trends. It promotes sustainability in laboratories.
He added that the study was published in a prestigious international journal. The scientific community also showed great interest. This reflects the value of safe and innovative solutions. He affirmed this achievement enhances Libyan scientific research. It also proves the capability of researchers in southern Libya. They can compete globally in advanced fields. These include microbiology and molecular diagnostics. He hopes this work will incentivize scientific research support. It could also expand international cooperation.
