Tripoli – The recovery of a car 14 years after it was stolen, and the seizure of another car wanted in a robbery case, were announced in the city of Tripoli on Saturday.
The city’s Security Directorate stated that its Information and Investigation Department became suspicious of a black Chevrolet Optra with tinted windows. After an inquiry, it was revealed that the vehicle was wanted by the Ghot al-Shaal Police Station, having been reported stolen since February 17, 2011. The car and its driver were apprehended and referred to the relevant police station to complete legal proceedings.
It added that the second car, a yellow Kia Lotze, was found to be wanted in connection with a case of mobile phone theft using a bladed weapon, dating back to 2021, within the jurisdiction of the Al-Farnaj Police Station. Legal measures were taken, and the car and its driver were referred to the competent authorities.
