The Libyan 5+5 Joint Military Committee (JMC) supervised on Sunday a new operation to release and exchange detainees between the Libyan National Army (LNA) and the armed groups in the Western region, in implementation of the ceasefire agreement signed between the two sides of the conflict in Geneva in October last year.

Commander of Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Colonel Omar al-Jadid, met with the Commander of 166 Battalion from Misrata, Muhammad al-Hussan, in al-Shuwairif town regarding joint agreement on securing al-Shuwairif-al-Sidada road in the Western region.
It is worth mentioning that al-Jadid had addressed a letter to the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, proposing the formation of a joint force with Misrata forces to secure the road linking al-Shuwairif and Al-Sadada, known as the River Road, in order to secure traffic and deliver fuel and basic needs to the Southern region (Fezzan).

Member, and former head, of the High State Council (HSC), Abdul Rahman al-Sweihli, said he will not accept ballot boxes if they bring dictatorship. The ballot box will only be a path to consolidating the democratic state of Libya for the sake of all the blood that was spilled in 2011 and 4.4.2019, he added.

Director of National Cancer Institute, Mohamed al-Faqih, confirmed on Wednesday that more than 60% of COVID-19 samples received at Misrata Isolation Center tested positive; most of them were severe infections.
