Sirte – The Electoral Management Office in Sirte announced on Wednesday the results of the municipal elections in the Gulf of Sidra and Jufra regions, which witnessed strong competition among the participating lists and individuals.
The results showed the victory of the “Reconstruction” list in the Jufra municipality with 1,266 votes, followed by the “Palm Tree” list, which received 1,184 votes. At the individual level, Hamed Ojeili topped the list of winners with 720 votes, followed by Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Hadi with 520 votes, and then Munawar Ibrahim Al-Senussi with 369 votes.
Meanwhile, the Gulf of Sidra municipality saw the “Consensus” list win with 2,699 votes, compared to 1,506 votes for the “Scale” list. As for the individual elections, Abdullah Akrim Amraja led the results with 1,541 votes, followed by Abdul Hamid Mohammed Ahmed with 1,029 votes, and then Mohammed Suleiman Omar with 569 votes.
The Electoral Administration confirmed to the “WAL” correspondent that these results are part of efforts to enhance popular participation in the democratic process, wishing everyone success in their upcoming tasks to serve the local community.
