The First Women's Gathering for the Libyan National Inventory celebrates national identity

Benghazi – The Children’s Creativity Center in Benghazi hosted the “First Women’s Gathering for Authentic Libyan Jard” on Sunday. The event took place in a festive atmosphere. It coincided with Eid al-Fitr. This gathering celebrated popular heritage. It highlighted the symbolic importance of the Jard. The Jard is a key feature of Libyan national identity. Many women participated in the gathering. They wore Libyan Jard in various colors and styles. This created a beautiful heritage tableau.

It blended the authenticity of the past with the spirit of the present. The event included commemorative photo sessions. It also featured diverse cultural activities. Interactive meetings discussed the Jard’s role. These meetings focused on preserving cultural heritage. They also aimed to introduce it to new generations.

Khairia Al-Farjani, a member of the Benghazi Municipal Council, stated her views. She explained that the event reflects the joy of Eid. It embodies a deep connection to authentic Libyan heritage. Celebrating the Jard is more than a festive display. It is a cultural message. This message showcases an ancient history. It also highlights a deep-rooted identity within society. She praised the spirit of participation from all attendees. Al-Farjani affirmed that such events revive national identity. They also strengthen pride in heritage among rising generations.

Nourya Al-Sharif, a member of the media committee, also spoke. She confirmed that the gathering aims to present the Libyan Jard appropriately. Its historical and aesthetic value deserves this recognition. Organizing such events seeks to embed popular heritage in daily community life. It also aims to stimulate interest in it. She expressed hope that this gathering will become an annual tradition. This tradition will enhance cultural ties for future generations. It will also support efforts to preserve national heritage in Libya.
