Julyana Free Zone

Benghazi – A specialized training course on the correct use of fire extinguishers was held at the Julyana Free Zone Port this Wednesday. The course was organized by the port’s Training and Development Office, in coordination with the Security and Safety Department, as part of the training plan prepared by the Director of the Training Office, Ahmed Najm.

The course targeted employees from the Handling and Storage Department and the Technical Affairs Department. It was conducted under the supervision of a specialized team from the Security and Safety Department, including Osama Juma Al-Delh, Ammar Salem Al-Qatani, Marei Seif Al-Nasr, Alaa Abu Bakr, and Issam Gaddafi Hmeida.

In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, Osama Al-Delh, Head of the Occupational and Health Safety Section, explained that the course covered theoretical and practical aspects of immediate fire response, mitigating fire risks, and the proper use of fire extinguishers. It also included training on reading the symbols and data on the cylinders and identifying different types of extinguishing agents and their methods of use.
Al-Delh noted that the practical component involved direct, hands-on field applications using the extinguishers to promote a culture of safety and increase the participants’ level of preparedness.

For its part, the Julyana Free Zone administration provided a large quantity of fire extinguishers, maintained the old ones, and distributed them to trucks at a rate of three per vehicle. Machinery, warehouses, and the administration building were also equipped. Additionally, two fire trucks were outfitted with the latest equipment in preparation for any emergency.
