Special Advisor of UN Secretary-General on Libya, Stephanie Williams, met today in Tripoli with Chairman of the Libyan High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, to discuss the progress in the preparation for the electoral process, according to the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
“Williams reiterated the UN steadfast support to the extraordinary work and efforts of HNEC,” UNSMIL tweeted on Monday.
“2.5 million Libyans received voter cards; this sends a strong message that the Libyan people yearn for change and democracy,” Williams stressed.
