WASHINGTON, D.C. – A commercial forum between the United States and Libya was held in Washington this week, aimed at discussing the strengthening of economic relations between the two countries.
The event was hosted by AmCham Libya (the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya). Attendees included representatives from U.S. companies, Libyan government officials, and U.S. policymakers. Massad Boulos, a Senior Advisor to the President on Africa as well as Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs, was among the participants.
“I was honored to speak at Friday’s LibyaAmCham event in D.C. I reiterated that strong commercial ties are the key to the U.S.-Libya relationship. Libya has the opportunity to attract world-class American companies by advancing stability and transparency, driving mutual prosperity,” Boulos said on X.
A central part of the forum involved sector-specific roundtable discussions. During these sessions, Libyan officials from sectors including Oil & Gas, Mining, Healthcare, Renewable Energy, Electricity, ICT, and Infrastructure presented potential projects to the U.S. companies in attendance. The schedule included one-on-one meetings designed to allow American businesses and Libyan officials to engage directly.
