Sebha – The Committee for the Reorganization of the South, headed by Major General Jamal Al-Amami, continues its intensive efforts to combat drugs and apprehend wanted individuals, as part of a security plan aimed at protecting society and enhancing stability.
In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, First Lieutenant Ahmed Al-Maslati, Director of the Media and Communication Office at the General Directorate of Security Operations, said that a security patrol in the city of Sebha managed to arrest an individual wanted by the Public Prosecution in connection with a case. He was accompanied by a Libyan girl in his vehicle.
The lieutenant added that they were found in possession of bottles of imported liquor, one capsule (balha) containing cocaine, and 3 small bags of the same substance ready for sale.
After obtaining an official warrant from the Public Prosecution to raid the suspect’s apartment, the security force commenced a search, which resulted in the discovery of 3 additional capsules (balhat) containing cocaine, in addition to 5,340 narcotic pills of the Pregabalin type (a Lyrica alternative).
The Committee for the Reorganization of Cities has taken the necessary legal measures and referred the suspect and the seized items to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigations.
The committee affirmed its continuation of carrying out specialized operations aimed at combating the scourge of drugs and protecting youth and society from its dangers, under the direct supervision and follow-up of Major General Jamal Al-Amami.
